Jog to Churches in Vancouver, BC

In late April, I went to Vancouver, BC for a work conference.   As I was packing, I briefly considered NOT taking my running clothes (because they definitely take up room), but decided if I brought them, I’d be motivated (by guilt) to actually use them.   And I was!

I’ve never been to Canada before, so this was a treat.   I got there on a Friday night and left early Monday morning, so it was a quick trip, but I suited up Saturday and Sunday mornings and went for a run with my little point-and-shoot camera hanging around my wrist.   The weather was gorgeous–about 50 degrees–so it was perfect running weather.     I’ve never lived in a big city before, so it’s quite distinct from what I’m accustomed to.   And there’s so much to look at.   I took my time and stopped whenever I saw something interesting.

Saturday morning I jogged around the downtown area and saw a handful of churches.   Sunday morning I jogged around Stanley Park.   It was invigorating and, to my surprise, I felt surprisingly worshipful and reverent to be jogging around the park on a Sunday morning rather than sitting in a church pew where I usually am on a Sunday morning.   I felt grateful to be there, grateful for the weather, grateful for the scenery, and grateful for my body that still (mostly) does what I want it to do.   ;)

There are probably too many pictures here, but I already whittled them down several times, so here goes . . .
