You’ve Gotta Have Feyth

It started last month. We pre-ordered it on Amazon, ventured into the world of audio books so that we could hear the author telling  the jokes in her own voice, or scooped it up at the grocery store — uncharacteristically shelling out for a hardback. As soon as we started reading Tina Fey’s Bossypants, we became breathless fangirls, quoting long portions to anyone who would listen, guffawing out loud when we read in public places and (in my case) trying to balance  the desire to devour the book in one great big greedy gulp or slowing down so  it could be savoured. With its wisdom and humor, Bossypants had touched a nerve with the women of Doves & Serpents. And then the e-mails started. Being the polite Mormon girls that we are, none of us called dibs right away. We expressed our undying affection for Fey and offered to write about this or that, always demurring  “but whatever the group wants to do.”   Soon it became clear that we were all dying to write abot Fey and Bossypants and  thus Fey Week was born. This week, D&S will be all Fey, all the time, with each of us discussing one of our favorite chapters of Bossypants or Fey herself. If you haven’t been converted yet, hold on, this week will show you why you’ve gotta have Feyth.
