As is so typical, those feminists (say it with derision, come on, you know you want to curl your upper lip as you say it) at Feminist Mormon Housewives are encouraging us to help Ordain Women change its name by calling for us to pool our collective genius and come up with a more “appropriate” (read = quiet, submissive, polite, confusing, passive-aggressive) name for Ordain Women. Something about staying away from grammatical ultimatums . . .
Because I’m a woman who knows (ignore the fact I’m doing this from my secular office in the most liberal place in my neck of the woods–a university), my heart turned immediately to my home and to my children (who are probably, as we speak, binge-watching Gray’s Anatomy or Greek while they eat sour cream Ruffles or Takis for lunch because I haven’t been to the grocery store in two weeks and throwing the wrappers on the floor).
And to all the children’s and YA books we’ve read over the years together while we waited to get so glad that Daddy was coming home.
So instead of engaging in political and secular discussions (which are unseemly), I propose that we come up with some children’s and/or YA book titles that accurately reflect the events of the last week in the Bloggernacle. This is obviously more nurturing of us . . .
I’ll start with a few that I came up with. Please add your own to my growing library.
