Today’s snowy Ride to Church comes to us from Tiffany and Michael in Denver, CO:
When I visited Denver for the first time one of the things that stood out to me was that there was a different church on every street corner. I grew up primarily in Utah so I was used to seeing a church on nearly every block, but they were all LDS chapels. In Denver there are just as many churches, but each is a different denomination; it’s one aspect that initially drew me to Denver. And after having lived here for just a few months, it’s become pretty clear that most of the people I encounter are, indeed, very religious. My husband I decided to drive down one of the main roads, starting near Parker, CO, and drive till we got to the Cathedral downtown, and take pictures of the churches we passed. We passed lots of very unique churches! Most of the pictures shown were taken from my car window while driving, and I think you can see some reflections in the glass. Three days before these pictures were taken there was a snow storm that essentially closed down Denver, snowing over a foot in many places. The night before these pictures were taken it had snowed a couple of inches more, so we were hoping to get some fresh snow in our pictures, but snow melts fast in Colorado!
Thank you; this is delightful. I like living where I live for the same reason–so many different churches. :)
These are beautiful, Tiffany and Michael. I have always loved the distinctive architecture of other churches. That Baptist church looks just like the one we lived near in Meridian, Mississippi thirty-five years ago, but some of the others are very different in different geographical locations (except the Mormons, which are so much the same in the last forty years). Thank you for sharing these.
Nice to see so many different denominations of churches.
I enjoyed the photos. Thank you!
