Today’s ride to “church” comes to Doves & Serpents from Matthew Crowley of Culpeper, Virginia. Matthew writes,
“Sundays for our little family are often days for outings, particularly to locations in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia we live at the foot of. There are pick-your-own apple orchards everywhere, but one in particular is a fall tradition for us. These photos were taken on the way there on October 9, 2011.”

Love this, Matthew. I’ve never been apple picking before, but it seems like fun. I’ve been berry picking a couple times, but it’s always so hot and miserable (in Texas), I don’t enjoy it. Did your kids have fun?
Also love the Episcopal Church built in 1842. What a sense of history that is (mostly) missing from Mormon meetinghouses.
Yes Heather, the kids absolutely love it.
