Ride to Church in Columbus, Mississippi

Today’s ride to church comes to us from Lori in Columbua, Missippi. Thanks, Lori!

$Across the street from my neighborhood. Honest to goodness, it\'s the \"other side of the tracks\", though this particular section is one block to the west.$

$Another southern icon, though I admit never to have eaten there even though it\'s just a few blocks from my house.$

$This just rather makes me laugh. Yes, it\'s a blind curve, but really?$

$This is a tornado shelter outside someone\'s house. We get a number of them here.$

$This home has a ghost. A girl caught cold and died in an upper room. I\'ve been there when the temp in that room was 20 degrees cooler than the rest of the house.$

Oh, so sorry I missed the trip when Kay went. Thanks for doing the Ride– it’s so fun to see the tours from the perspective of a person who knows and loves the community.

Is it green already up in Columbus? The leaves are just starting to come back in Vicksburg.

Actually, these pictures were all taken in August in the hottest part of the summer. We are just starting to green up right now after our very mild winter.
