Come see James’ bike ride to his favourite church just outside Suffolk, England, where James grew up and now works as a primary school teacher.
This is not the Quaker church that James attends most Sundays, but a small village church that sits atop a hill. “I just love it. Inside it is just so, so quiet. I normally go there, very early in the morning and I never see anyone else, all you can hear is the sound of birds and sometimes not even that. The sunrise is beautiful and you can see for miles and miles.”
Thank you for the gorgeous photos and reminder that I live in a very beautiful place.
If anyone is interested in taking a look at the work of David Frazer, the artist that James mentions, check here.
I love the sense of history that is available in other countries. We just don’t have it here.
James– I assume you know how lucky you are to live somewhere so beautiful. I love the daffodils and wonder how long ago they were planted, and who planted them. And, that twisted chimney house! I always wonder about the people who built such things, and admire them for their thinking. I’ve never seen another chimney like that– do you know if there are others anywhere?
I’m not James, but I haven’t seen another like it in the area.
Very beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.
I haven’t come across any other chimneys like the one on the slideshow. Local villages like Lavenham,Kersey and Nayland have some beautiful Tudor buildings with unusual features. The wool trade in the 14c made the Suffolk/Essex area very wealthy. I’m glad you liked the pictures.
