The snake would freak me. No matter how small, they always do when I see them on nature hikes. LOVE the snails!
Love the pics, Amanda. Thanks for sharing.
What kind of snake is that, Amanda? Were these chance findings, or did you go out ‘hunting’?
Andy, I wondered that as well. And I was thinking that if I were out taking a walk, I don’t know that that I’d even notice anything like that . . .
Will patiently wait for pics of some bluebonnets. :)
You’re in a lovely part of Texas! Looks like you’re enjoying it.
Yes! Amanda, you’re on the hook for some bluebonnet pics in March-April.
Amanda, really fantastic macro-photography. Thank you.
Thanks for the compliments, guys. I believe the snake is a cottonmouth, or as we call it in Texas, a water moccasin. I enjoy nature and hiking, so I always have a camera with me; however, most of my pictures are pure happenstance. The mantis was on my security light glaring at me as I entered my apartment. The snails were inundating my apartment complex, and I almost stepped on the snake—glad that didn’t happen! Rachel, I will make sure to find some fine specimen of bluebonnet come spring.
