Today’s Walk to Church comes to us from Jenna in Chicago, who writes:
We are moving from Chicago to the Bay Area this year, and I finally convinced my husband to get up early enough to walk to our LDS meetinghouse so I could document our experience for a Ride to Church post. It took us about 30 minutes to walk there, though it’s usually 20 minutes when we don’t have a four year old friend walking along with us. The permanent home of President Obama is actually in our ward boundaries, and we walk pretty close to his house on the way to church. He was in town for something the day before, and I was hoping to get a picture of the police blocking off the streets and taking names down on clipboards, but he was gone by Sunday morning. Chicago hasn’t been a good fit for us as a family, but we are incredibly sad to be leaving this wonderful ward behind. The people here are the most diverse, tolerant, open-minded, and loving that I’ve ever had the privilege to worship with.
I love the ivy-covered building. Thanks for sharing your walk. I hope that you do it again when you move to SF.
