Today’s Ride to Church comes to us from Elissa in Staffordshire, England. Elissa writes:
Newcastle-under-Lyme is a market town in Staffordshire, England; about midway between Manchester and Birmingham. It’s part of the area known as “The Potteries,” where Wedgwood and other companies produce their wares. Home to notable figures Slash and Robbie Williams. Newcastle has the highest number of recycling receptacles in all of Europe.
We are Americans who have lived here for the past three years, and while we have grown used to people giving us sympathetic looks when they find out where exactly in England we live, we find that it does have its charms such as beautiful countryside, oatcakes and friendly people who call us “duck” and “shug.”

Thanks for sharing these Elissa. My gggrandfather was from Tittensor, so you’ve given me a little glimpse of what his home was like.
As a missionary, I’ve played football here many times.
As a Newcastle-under-Lyme lover it’s great to see images of the town going all over the world! We like to keep people up-to-date with what’s going on in the town on http://www.facebook.com/NewcastleULtowncentre
