Ren’s (former) Ride to the Winter Quarters, Nebraska Temple

Today’s Ride to Church post comes from Ren (who now lives in Minnesota):

I used to live in Omaha, Nebraska and this is my former ride to the Winter Quarters Temple. I took these photos on a recent visit back.   I like Omaha because it is a big enough city, around half a million people in the metro area, but not too big.   Rush hour traffic means it might take you 45 minutes instead of 30 to get across town.   The people are friendly.   What I didn’t like was the weather, which is hot and oppressively humid in the summer and mostly gray in the winter.

I have many good memories of this temple and some not so happy ones, too. While I don’t know if I’ll ever go to the temple again, I do appreciate the meditative time I had there.

The temple is adjacent to the Winter Quarters cemetery in the Florence neighborhood in northeast Omaha.     This “ride” takes you to the temple from the northern route along the Missouri River.
