In early April, I had to (got to?) to a conference in New Orleans for work. So on Sunday morning, I threw on my tennis shoes, grabbed my camera, and headed towards St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. As you know if you’ve ever been to New Orleans, there is SO much to see, smell, and hear. I wrote about the experience here.
Laissez les bons temps rouler (let the good times roll)!
Where are the pictures?
Mom, is this MY mom? You can’t see the pictures above these comments?
lol!
New Orleans looks fantastic, Heather! I was wondering how much of the devastation from Katrina would still be evident, but thankfully, there’s lots of history still there.
We have flags in our cathedral, too – although, tucked away in side chapels. It makes sense, especially here where it’s the state church (Church of England). But don’t we sometimes have flagpoles outside LDS chapels in America? That seems odd to me – perhaps only because we’re routinely less patriotic here in the UK.
Yes, there is definitely a flag pole outside LDS chapels in the US. I’m not accustomed to seeing flags inside church buildings like these, though.
Heather, loved this.
Nice – I’ll be in New Orleans next week and will have to check out this beautiful cathedral.
Cool, Jonathan! It’s a nice walk from Canal Street to Jackson Square. It’s also nice to walk/run along the river.
